How To Make Pickles       


Spicy Prunes

Delicious with meats.

Ingredients:

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2.5 cups water
1.25 cups cider vinegar
750g Prunes
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 tablespoon pickling spice
1 medium onion, peeled and cut into rings

Steps

1  Dissolve the sugar in the water and vinegar.

2 Add the prunes, cinnamon and picking spice. Bring to the boil then simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Cool.

3. Add the onion rings. Refrigerate for at feast 24 hours to fully plump the prunes and develop flavour.
